Nissan reveals first 100% electric Juke — due to be released in 2027
Nissan has expanded its EV lineup in Europe with the reveal of the 100% electric Juke.
The Juke has been on our roads since 2010, selling 1.5 million units in that time — only second to the Qashqai in Europe. The third-generation model — which made its global debut at Nissan’s Vision Event in Japan — is part of the Japanese brand’s wider strategy to offer “an electrified powertrain for every type of customer today”.
While retaining some of the original silhouette exterior design as previous generations, the new Juke incorporates a more futuristic look, with defined blocky edges making up its different bodyshell.
As well as the Juke, Nissan’s growing EV lineup in Europe now comprises the Micra, third-generation Leaf, Ariya crossover and Townstar LCV. Nissan also says that a further EV in the A-segment is due sometime in the near future.
The brand will also continue to offer hybrid options in the form of the Qashqai e‑Power and Juke HEV.
The electric Juke will be built on the CMF-EV platform at Nissan’s Sunderland Plant in the UK, with the first trial phase of production set to begin in the next few weeks.
Nissan continues to work towards its Ambition 2030 goal, which aims to accelerate the electrification of its lineup, as well as its wider aim to be completely carbon neutral across the life cycle of its products and operations by 2050.
There’s no word on price just yet, although that and other further technical details will be revealed close to its launch in spring 2027. The smaller Leaf, which will continue to be built alongside the new Juke in Sunderland, currently offers the choice of a 52kWh or 75kWh battery, up to 215bhp, and up to 386 miles of range.
