Jensen International reveals name and launch details for first car
The Jensen Interceptor GTX will be fully unveiled to the world in Q2 of this year
While the reveal comes 60 years after the launch of the Jensen Interceptor, this is the first official car from the new Jensen International brand and comes in the form of a pre-production, high-performance special. Jensen has stressed that rather than being created as a restomod or continuation, the 2026 Interceptor GTX will be an all-new car created by its in-house team.
Jensen says the Interceptor GTX will feature an aluminium chassis, hand-built aluminium body, bespoke V8 engine and fully analogue driving experience.
Heavily involved as a key partner in the new project is Jeff Qvale, a leading US automotive industry figure and the son of former Jensen Motors owner, Kjell Qvale. The Qvale family has long been involved in importing, distribution, retail and limited-series manufacturing across British, Italian and performance marques. Jeff’s connection with Jensen stretches back to his days as a teenager, where he spent time at the brand’s factory in the UK, when his father was the major shareholder of the company.
Jeff Qvale said: “For me, this project is very personal. Jensen was a big part of my father’s life and our family history. Hand-built to the utmost quality, the Jensen Interceptor GTX will set new benchmarks and provide the pure, high-performance, ultra-analogue driving experience that discerning clientele are now demanding.”
David Duerden, Managing Director of Jensen International, commented: “We are proud to reveal the name of our first, entirely new car and delighted to have Jeff Qvale on board. He brings a deep understanding of the Jensen brand and exceptional expertise in the global automotive and investment sectors. As a key partner, he will play a crucial role in bringing the Jensen Interceptor GTX to market.”
