Nissan Micra EV prices start from £23k

Prices for the all-new Nissan Micra have finally been revealed, following its unveiling in May.

After selling six million units since its original launch in 1983, the Micra is now in its sixth generation, and the newest iteration is the first in the model’s 40-plus-year run to be purely electric. It will mark the start of Nissan’s future strategy that will see the Japanese brand release four new EVs by 2027.

Two battery options - 40kWh and 52kWh - are available to choose from, which give a minimum of 198 miles and a maximum of 260 miles of range, a little higher than what was originally announced after further testing.

Trim levels

Engage

The most affordable electric Micra at £22,995 is the Engage variant, which is only available with a 40kWh battery.

The standard kit on the Engage option includes 18 inch Structured wheels, a 7-inch TFT combimeter and 10.1-inch infotainment screen, auto air conditioning, a heat pump and four speakers. A quick charge from 15-80% will take half an hour with an 80kw charger, which is made more efficient thanks to the standard heat pump.

Advance

The mid-range option is Advance, which gives customers the choice of either a 40kWh battery for £24,995 or a 52kWh battery for £26,995.

Coming as standard here are 18-inch alloy wheels, a 10.1-inch TFT with Google built in, adaptive cruise control, wireless phone charging, front parking sensors and rear view camera, as well as six speakers.

Evolve

The top of the range choice is the Evolve grade, which costs £29,865 and is only available with a 52kWh battery.

Here, you get as standard, a Harman/Kardon premium sound system, e-Pedal with paddle shifts, two tone paint, 18 inch sport alloys, ProPilot Assist and heated front seats and steering.

Optional extras

There are a couple of optional extras available for the Advance and Evolve trims.

For £500 each on the Advance model, you can add 18'' SPORT alloy wheels and the cold pack, which heats the front seats and steering wheel. Hands free parking costs an additional £500 for the Evolve trim, while there is also the option of the chill interior (cream grey synthetic leather) for an extra £400.

“Micra is a key strategic model for Nissan”

James Taylor, Managing Director of Nissan GB said “Micra is the first of four new fully electric models to arrive on the Nissan line up and we are incredibly excited to be pricing it so competitively. Micra is a key strategic model for Nissan, and based on the positive reviews, exciting design, attractive price and a class-leading product, I am looking forward to seeing lots of new Micras on the road soon.”

It is expected that the new Micra will qualify for a £1,500 UK government Electric Car Grant, although this will be confirmed at a later date by the Office of Zero Emission Vehicles. The prices shown in this article do not include the potential government grant.

Orders will begin on September 1.
