Kia reveals full EV2 range starting from £24,245

Kia started 2026 with a bang with the reveal of its new EV2, which promised to be its most compact electric car yet and offer a new entry point into its expanding electric range. The EV2 joins Kia’s already massive electric offering, joining the likes of the EV3, EV4, EV5, EV6, EV9 and PV5

While we were treated to a load of detail about the car itself back in January, Kia wasn’t as forthcoming with exact details about pricing and spec. We now know, however, that you’ll be able to pick up an EV2 from £24,245, with 281 miles being one of the longest ranges on a single charge of all EVs under £25,000.

Manufactured at Kia’s Žilina plant in Slovakia for European customers alongside the Sportage, EV4 five-door hatchback, and XCeed, 42.2kWh and 61.0kWh battery options are being offered at launch, with first customer deliveries set to take place later this year. The EV2 can do a fast charge from 10-80% in 29 minutes, and is available in 144bhp (standard-range) and 133bhp (long-range) options.

The car will be exclusively available as a five-seater in the UK, and all variants will have 362 litres of boot space with all seats in place, extending to 1,201 litres with the second row of seats folded.

Variants (prices inclusive of Kia Reservation Saving)

While Kia awaits confirmation that the EV2 will be eligible for the UK Government’s Electric Car Grant (ECG), the Kia Reservation Saving scheme will be applied to each of the four EV2 variants, bringing the price down by a small chunk.

EV2 ‘Air’

As the most affordable variant at £24,245, the ‘Air’ grade is powered by the long-range 61.0kWh battery pack and benefits from standard kit, including 16-inch alloy wheels, body coloured door mirrors, black side sills and wheel arches, ‘Air’ interior styling with green accents, grey cloth seat upholstery, manual driver’s seat adjustment and a 6-speaker audio system.

In terms of options, its affordable price means the only way you’ll be able to customise your EV2 is with the choice of five additional paint colours over the standard white. These colours — Magma Red, Moonlight Mint, Frost Blue, Vanilla Blossom and Phantom Black — will cost an additional £620. Production for the ‘Air’ variant will begin in June 2026.

EV2 ‘First Edition’

Production of the first EV2 variant to arrive in the UK has already begun, with the ‘First Edition’ being offered with a 42.2kWh battery. At £26,995, it is being pushed as an affordable ‘halo’ model with a high level of spec.

As well as the standard kit, the ‘First Edition’ comes with additional features like 18-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights with adaptive driving beam, automatic flush door handles, gloss black window surround and privacy glass (rear windows and tailgate).

Further additional kit comes in the form of electric driver’s seat adjustment and lumbar support, electric one-touch front and rear windows, sunvisors with illuminated vanity mirrors, customisable ambient lighting, an 8-speaker Harman Kardon Premium Sound System, wireless mobile phone charging, remote Smart Parking Assist 1.0, blind spot view monitor, parking collision-avoidance assist and a 15 litre ‘frunk’.

There is also the choice of three premium paint options — Frost Blue, Phantom Black and Wolf Grey — at no extra cost.

EV2 ‘GT-Line’

Kia’s traditionally best-selling trim option, ‘GT-Line’, is next up from £28,995 and is offered with the 61.0kWh battery pack.

Extra goodies on top of those offered on the standard ‘Air’ list include 19-inch alloy wheels with ‘GT-Line’ styling, ‘GT-Line’ exterior styling, ‘GT-Line’ interior styling with two-tone artificial leather upholstery and alloy pedals.

For an extra £620, you can swap the standard Fusion White paint for Magma Red, Dark Penta Metal or Wolf Grey.

EV2 ‘GT-Line S’

Coming in as the most expensive variant is the ‘GT-Line S’ grade, which will set customers back £32,595. Inside and out, you’ll find the same ‘GT’-inspired design details as ‘GT-Line’, with a number of features usually reserved for larger premium models.

Notable additional features over those seen on the ‘GT-Line’ variant include customisable ambient lighting, 1x interior 3-pin power socket, vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability with adapter, an 8-speaker Harman Kardon Premium Sound System, wireless mobile phone charger, Digital Key 2.0, auto-dipping door mirrors and a 360-degree surround view monitor.

Moonlight Mint is added to the standard and premium paint choices offered on the ‘GT-Line’ variant, while for an additional £700, customers can add a heat pump.
