Caterham Seven Nürburgring Edition celebrates 100 years of legendary circuit
Another week, another limited edition Caterham Seven.
Recent limited edition Sevens have celebrated Miami and Sir Stirling Moss, while 2025 even saw a one-off tribute Seven in honour of the Royal Air Force.
This time, the British brand is paying homage to the Nürburgring, as the iconic circuit celebrates its 100th anniversary. The 12.9-mile track, know as ‘Green Hell’, has been the ultimate test of a driver and car’s ability, with its 73 corners and various undulations providing some of the most challenging conditions in all of motorsport.
And what better way for Caterham to unveil its offering than at the upcoming 2026 ADAC 24 hours of Nürburgring, where it will be located at the Bilstein stand in the paddock throughout the weekend.
Powertrain & Setup
Shock absorbers and suspension systems specialists Bilstein have been heavily involved in the creation of the Caterham Seven Nürburgring Edition. Bilstein has developed a bespoke race suspension using its advanced vertical dynamics test rig at its Test Facility to specifically meet the demands of the Nürburgring.
These systems combine with a naturally aspirated 2.0 litre Ford Duratec Engine, putting out 210bhp at 7,600rpm. Controlled with a five-speed gearbox, the limited edition model can accelerate from 0-60mph in 3.8 seconds, while its top speed maxes out at 136mph.
So just how limited is it?
Caterham is only creating 100 examples available to customers worldwide based on either a Seven 420R or Seven 340R, with prices in the UK starting from £48,995.
Exterior
The limited edition Seven is a fully licensed Nürburgring product, and its exterior reflects that by slapping its branding and circuit logo on the car in a manner that’s difficult to miss.
Paint choices include the choice of three Nürburgring colours - Verkehrsrot (Traffic Red), Achatgrau (Agate Grey) and Basaltgrau (Basalt Grey), while other custom colours are available to choose from.
The Nürburgring touches don’t stop there, with other exterior upgrades including a Nürburgring "red" track day roll bar, a Nürburgring mesh grill with Seven logo in dual colour and a 620-style nosecone with carbon aero whiskers.
Interior
Inside, leather seats are finished with Nürburgring embroidery and red stitching, similarly found on the transmission tunnel. The interior panels are made from carbon, while a four-point race harnesses and sequential shift lights are also features.
Each of the 100 cars will receive an individually numbered plaque to give it the most exclusive of exclusive feels.
