Alpine reveals first on-track images of A110 R Ultime

‘The sportiest and most exclusive Alpine road car of all time’

The A110 R Ultime was one of the many new models unveiled by Alpine at the 2024 Paris Motor Show, and now we’ve been treated to first on-track images of a car that the French brand says blends ‘sporting performance and exclusive appeal.’

Despite initially expecting to remain as a prototype, the A110 R Ultime has become a reality and as its name suggests, only 110 examples will be produced at the Jean Rédélé Alpine plant in Dieppe.

Raw Speed

The French brand’s engineers sought to make the ultimate road going version of the A110, which has proved critically and commercially popular since its release in 2018. The best minds from motorsport and test driver Laurent Hurgon were brought in to improve power and aerodynamics, drawing on lightweight designs from previous Alpine racers, namely eight years of GT4 series cars.

A new DCT6 gearbox allows the A110 R Ultime to handle the maximum torque of 420 Nm, while new forged pistons and new connecting rods borrowed from motorsport contribute to a boosted output of 345 bhp. There is a 160 kg increase in downforce compared with the A110 R.

All in all, the result is a car that can accelerate from 0-62mph in just 3.8 seconds and is 20 seconds a lap quicker than the A110 R on a lap of the Nürburgring.

Personalisation

Raw speed isn’t all that’s on offer. Alpine is offering potential customers the chance to be part of a real co-creation process. The ‘ultra-personalisation programme’ - seen for the first time on an Alpine vehicle - offers 28 body colours, as well as 14 shades of Alcantara upholstery and 10 shades of leather to choose from thanks to a new partnership with furniture specialists Poltrona Frau.

Future A110 releases

Following the conclusion to production of the A110 R Ultime, Alpine says the next iteration will be an electric A110, expected to be released in late 2026.
