Abarth adds Turismo and Competizione trims to 600e range
Abarth has made wholesale changes to the range of its 600e hot hatch, with entry-level Turismo and top-of-the-pile Competizione replacing the previous 600e and limited-edition Scorpionissima trims that were offered at launch.
Turismo — which has previously been used on the Abarth 500e and 595 — will act as an entry-point to the range at £33,995 OTR, while Competizione — last used on the Abarth 595 — is now the priciest 600e option at £37,995 OTR.
Both trim options use the same powertrain on the ‘Perfo eCMP’ platform, similarly used on the Alfa Romeo Junior Veloce and Vauxhall Mokka GSE. The Turismo comes with 236bhp, while the Competizione gets a larger 276bhp to play with, enabling a 0-62mph sprint in 5.85 seconds.
Abarth says the Competizione trim in particular signals a “significant step forward” for the brand thanks to features including a Torsen limited-slip differential, powerful brakes with monoblock calipers, and a suite of components developed in close collaboration with Stellantis Motorsport.
The Competizione’s exterior showcases a two-tone livery made up of an orange body and black roof, although a wide range of colour options are available.
Inside, the cabin is wrapped in premium Alcantara and the equipment on offer is more or less the same as the outgoing 600e trims, with Turismo getting a seven-inch driver’s display combined with a 10-inch central touchscreen, keyless go and rain-sensing wipers. Competizione adds sat-nav, adaptive cruise control, Sabelt bucket seats and (who could forget) a sound generator replicating a roaring engine.
