Volvo XC90 Black Edition now available

After its update in 2024, the Volvo XC90 has become the fifth model from the Swedish brand’s range to be offered in a Black Edition version, with the traditional Onyx Black joined by three other exterior colour variants.

The XC90 joins Black Edition variants of the XC60, electric EX40 and EC40, and the XC40 mild hybrid, with an EX30 version also planned for future release.

New Crystal White, Denim Blue and Vapour Grey colours all join the party on the XC90 Black Edition, now available on the new plug-in and mild hybrid SUV XC90 options. Each car’s exterior comes with unique exterior details, including gloss black finishes on the iron mark, grille, rear badges and wheels.

The changes continue on the inside, and customers are able to choose between two all-black interiors with charcoal headlining and chequered aluminium detailing. Two material options for the charcoal coloured seats are available.

The UK market will specifically offer the XC90 Black Edition in Plus, Plus Pro, and Ultra trim levels, with prices starting at £72,450 for the Plus model and the Ultra requiring the deepest pockets at £77,950. Despite its range of plug-in hybrid offerings, Volvo says it is continuing to build “towards an all-electric future”.

"Following clear demand from our customers, we are expanding our line-up of Black Edition cars, adding the XC90," said Erik Severinson, Chief Commercial Officer at Volvo Cars. "There’s now a timeless and confident-looking Black Edition for our customers in all sizes."
