This is the Porsche interior of the future
Porsche has showcased its future interior design on the Cayenne Electric model, set to be fully revealed at the end of this year.
More comfort, personalisation possibilities and a new digital operating concept with ‘the largest display surface ever featured in a Porsche’ are just some of the features in what is a new step forward for the brand.
New interior highlights
Flow Display
The new feature that seems to have garnered the most reaction online is the curved OLED Flow Display, the largest display ever installed in a Porsche. It is perfectly worked into the centre console and seamlessly sits alongside two screens to form the largest continuous digital surface in any Porsche and a 50% increase compared to the petrol-powered Cayenne. In another first, the Cayenne Electric is available with a head-up display projecting an effective display size of 87 inches.
Focus on comfort
The rear seats are able to electrically adjust from a comfortable sitting position to provide more space in the boot. Mood modes can determine the light, climate, sound and seat functions to create ‘different distinctive atmospheres’, and is complemented by a sliding panoramic roof - the largest glass sunroof ever fitted in a Porsche. Settings on the sunroof range include clear, matte, semi and bold, which let in different amounts of natural light.
There’s also the new surface heating that warms the seats and large contact areas like armrests and door panel sections to create a cosy atmosphere, which Porsche says has greater efficiency than a conventional warm air system.
New technology
The new AI-powered voice assistant is able to understand complex instructions and follow up questions without having to repeat information. Comfort controls and Mood modes can be activated with simple voice commands, while addresses, points of interest and traffic information are instantly recognised.
How do you unlock your Cayenne to access this brand new interior? The new Porsche Digital Key is accessible through smartphones and watches and can be instantly recognised when approaching the car. It is able to be shared with seven additional users and can be stored in the Wallet app.
Personalisation and customisation opportunities
The new interior is offered with a choice of 13 colour combinations, plus four interior packages and five accent packages. The Cayenne Electric material choices range from classic leather variants to new colours like Magnesium Grey, Lavender and Sage Grey. Leather-free interiors are also available in the form of Race-Tex with Pepita print, paying homage to iconic Porsche designs from its extensive history.
Customers are also encouraged to use the Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur service, which helps bring personal visions to life to the finest of details. The German brand says the upcoming Cayenne Electric “offers a level and breadth of personalisation opportunities never before seen in a Porsche SUV.”
When will the Cayenne Electric be released?
The Cayenne Electric is due to be released in mid-2026, where it will be sold alongside the ICE equivalent, as Porsche looks to scale back its original electric plans. More details of the luxury SUV are set to be revealed later this year when it is fully revealed to the public.
