Vauxhall Frontera name is back on new all-electric SUV

Vauxhall Frontera

Vauxhall has announced the return of the Frontera nameplate in 2024, this time making its comeback on an all-electric SUV.

The original Frontera SUV was first released in 1991 and production ran until 2003. We’ve only been treated to a silhouette image so far, but the first proper images of the car and more detailed information will be released in the coming weeks.

What Vauxhall are saying so far is that it will “appeal to customers with an active lifestyle and families alike” and is “being offered at an attractive price”.

Vauxhall’s managing director James Taylor said: “The name ‘Frontera’ is ideally suited to our exciting new SUV model. It will have a confident character and be positioned right in the core of the market.”

The arrival of the battery-electric new Frontera coincides with this year’s launch of the next generation Grandland in what is an important 2024 for Vauxhall as it transitions into a fully electric brand. The British brand will then offer at least one fully electric version across its entire car and van range. The fully electric Vauxhall model options currently available include the Corsa, Mokka, Astra and Astra Sports Tourer.
