Lando Norris signs new McLaren contract
Lando Norris has signed a new multi-year contract with McLaren. The British driver’s deal was originally set to run out in 2025.
The 24 year old made his debut for the Woking-based team at the Australian Grand Prix in 2019 and has secured 13 podium finishes and one pole position in his 104 starts. He managed a 6th place finish in the driver’s standings last season.
Norris posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, “There’s nowhere else I’d rather be. Proud to say I’m staying with @McLarenF1, let’s carry on what we started.”
Oscar Piastri, Norris’ teammate at McLaren, signed a new deal with the deal last September and it looks like the lineup at the eight-time constructor’s champions will remain the same for the next few years.
The news also comes a day after it was announced that Charles Leclerc had signed a contract extension with Ferrari.
Ahead of the 2024 season, McLaren will launch their car at Silverstone on February 14th before heading to Bahrain for pre-season testing on February 21st.
