The Grand Tour: One For The Road Official Trailer is here

It’s gearing up to be an emotional goodbye to Clarkson, Hammond and May as their final special of The Grand Tour fast approaches.

One For The Road is set to be released on September 13th and we were recently treated to a short teaser trailer, giving us a brief glimpse into what the trio were getting up to in the finale. The last adventure across Zimbabwe will see them driving three cars they’ve always wanted to own, Clarkson in a Lancia Montecarlo, May in a Ford Capri and Hammond in a Triumph Stag.

The episode is the culmination of 22 years of the trio together on our screens, starting with Top Gear before moving to Prime Video for The Grand Tour. At the beginning of the latest trailer, Hammond admits that he “never thought that what we do together would go on as it has.”

Soundtracked by Bonnie Tyler’s ‘Total Eclipse of the Heart’, the trailer shows the trio drifting, bickering and struggling around the beautiful landscape of Zimbabwe. The scenery is similar to that seen in the Top Gear Botswana special from 2007, widely considered to be one of the best episodes they have produced.

It’s going to be a difficult and emotional watch, with many petrolheads attributing their love of cars starting thanks to watching Top Gear on a Sunday night. The dozens of episodes and specials continue to be rewatched to this day and YouTube compilation channels showing clips and montages consistently get views in the hundreds of thousands.

The trio appear to be going out on a high and in the trailer, Clarkson says of the road trip - “we really did save the best ‘til last.”

The Grand Tour: One For The Road is available on Prime Video on September 13th.
