Tecnomar for Lamborghini 101FT presented at Monaco Yacht Show

Not simply content with pushing limits on the road, Lamborghini is continuing to flex its muscles on water with the reveal of the The Tecnomar for Lamborghini 101FT at the Monaco Yacht Show.

The yacht is the latest collaboration between Lamborghini and The Italian Sea Group, which began in 2020 with the launch of the Tecnomar for Lamborghini 63. The exclusive premiere in Monaco showcased a scale version of the yacht, which is due to set sail sometime in 2027.

The 101FT name comes from (yep, you guessed it) the length of the yacht. It blends the engineering skills of The Italian Sea Group, adding that Lamborghini aesthetic to create the pinnacle in ‘Made in Italy’ manufacturing.

Exterior

Lamborghini has had its fingerprints all over the 101FT, with the exterior design, including Giallo Crius livery and front and rear lights, taking inspiration from the limited edition Fenomeno recently presented at Monterey Car Week. Those heavily emphasised lines seen across the entire Lamborghini range are here to see again, although the brand says every detail combines “the maximum functionality with the utmost aesthetic purity”.

Lamborghini has also tried to replicate the feeling of being behind the wheel of the Temerario at the helm of the yacht, although similar speeds, unfortunately, aren’t included in the 101FT.

Engine

While the Temerario uses a hybrid V8, the 101FT is powered by three MTU 16V 2000 M96L engines combined with three surface propellers, enabling it to reach a top speed of 45 knots and a cruising speed of 35 knots. For you petrolheads out there who have no idea how fast that is (me included), it translates to around 51mph and 40mph, respectively.

Interior

Inside, what has been presented is pure Lamborghini, with colours, stitching and design replicating those seen on one of the Italian brand’s road cars.

However, the limited space of a Lamborghini supercar isn’t a problem here, as the 101FT can house up to nine guests and has three crew cabins. The central seating area is sure to host many a game of poker, and Lamborghini hexagons and sharp edges are dotted throughout the minimalist yet stylish interior.

Stephan Winkelmann, Chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, commented: “With the Tecnomar for Lamborghini 101FT, we are taking Lamborghini’s DNA to sea: performance, design, and innovation come together in a motoryacht that redefines the concept of nautical luxury. It is not only a yacht, but an affirmation of Italian excellence.
