Alpine will continue with an unchanged driver lineup in 2027, with Franco Colapinto today having his contract renewed alongside teammate and lead driver Pierre Gasly.

Colapinto has five races to prove himself worthy of being Pierre Gasly’s teammate, starting with the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix.

Order books have opened for the Alpine A290, while Franco Colapinto joins the French brand’s F1 team as a reserve driver.

The current season has seen Sargeant suffer multiple crashes, which was perhaps enough evidence for Team Principal James Vowles to make the abrupt change.
