Romans International Offering Ferrari Enzo and Maserati MC12
Surrey-based dealership Romans International is to offer a Ferrari Enzo and Maserati MC12, two of the most stylish and revered supercars of the 2000s. The pair share a connection from their conception and have remained in pristine condition with only delivery miles on the clock. They’ve recently been part of a notorious UK collection and without turning a wheel, the value of both cars has doubled in the last five years so will represent both a good investment and a driving experience.
The Maserati MC12 was originally unveiled at the 2004 Geneva Motor Show and was created to mark Maserati’s return to racing after 37 years. Seen as a twin to the Ferrari Enzo with both cars sharing many mechanical components, it was limited to a run of 50 units and this rarity, along with its racing influence, has seen its value jump from around £1 million to £10 million in a decade.
At the heart of the MC12 is the roaring F140B V12 engine and ‘Maserati Cambiocorsa’ F1 gearbox, which is clad in carbon fibre bodywork taking its styling from hours of wind tunnel testing. Despite obvious similarities with the Enzo, the body is a foot longer and the car has broader wings, while its removable roof is a feature that the Enzo cannot boast.
Not to say that the Ferrari Enzo is any less of a worthwhile investment. Named after the marque’s legendary founder, the Enzo was groundbreaking in its design and engineering, making use of the expertise of Ferrari’s then-driver, Formula 1 World Champion Michael Schumacher. The brand new 6.0-litre V12 engine stunned people at the time, enabling a 0-60mph time of just 3.1 seconds. The design was a homage to the winning F2002 Formula 1 car and like the MC12, its production run was limited. Only 400 units were ever made, with one of these specially crafted for Pope John Paul II.
Tom Jaconelli, Director at Romans International, said: “The sale of these cars is not merely a transaction but the next evolution of their journey as historically important collectable cars. Whether for the discerning enthusiast or the visionary investor, the Maserati MC12 and Ferrari Enzo are not merely cars, but artistry and history on wheels, each bearing the legacy and the pinnacle of contemporary technology of two of the most emotive automotive brands in the world.”
