Chelsea Truck Company Unveils Defender 90 Prototype

Defender 90 Prototype

Chelsea Truck Company has unveiled its newest take on the Defender 90 with a 1 of 1 experimental prototype of Land Rover’s famous model. The company, established in 2010, is part of the Kahn Group which includes Project Kahn, Flying Huntsman and the Vengeance. It was set up to celebrate owner Afzal Kahn’s favourite off-roaders while sprinkling in his love of the Royal Borough of Chelsea. As well as Defender, the Chelsea Truck Company has also built versions of the Jeep Wrangler and G-Wagon.

This Satin Black prototype with tinted glass and blue interior leather is based on a Defender 90 P400 X-Dynamic, adding in wide body arches the company is famous for and producing close to 400 BHP. Additions to the already bulky bodywork include a wide-vented carbon fibre bonnet, a large V-shaped roof spoiler, twin LED-lit roof shield, a grille mask which reduces the size of the vehicle’s headlamps for a focused, purposeful appearance, and an aggressive-looking, retro-styled front bumper valance. All of this sits on Kahn Type 57 22” RS-Forged wheels.

“Chelsea Truck Company is known for the innovative styling we bring to Defenders past and present,” says CEO Afzal Kahn. “With this vehicle, we are showing our more experimental side by including some of our newest works in progress.

This price for this Defender 90 is £105,000, and while a six-figure fee may be steep to some, it could be argued that it represents decent value for a 1 of 1 car that looks at home on the King’s Road.

‘Prototype X’ is now available for sale. For further information, please click here.
