Top 10 most expensive lots at Sotheby’s Miami auction

RM Sotheby’s latest auction will take place during ModaMiami, Miami's newest event showcasing the world's most incredible cars, world-class cuisine, luxury goods, and entertainment, on March 1st and 2nd, at the Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables. Here are the top 10 most expensive lots up for auction.

1. 1953 Ferrari 250 Europa Coupe by Vignale ($4.5M - $5.5M)
The very first luxury grand touring Ferrari powered by a 3-litre Colombo V-12 engine, and the first of 22 Europas built.

2. 1967 Ferrari 365 California Spyder by Pininfarina ($4M - $4.5M)
The ninth of 14 examples built.

3. 1930 Duesenberg Model J 'Disappearing Top' Convertible Coupe by Murphy ($3.5M - $4M)
One of two surviving “Disappearing Top” examples with original rear-mounted spares

4. 2018 Bugatti Chiron ($3.2M - $3.8M)
One of approximately 207 original Chirons built; among 500 total Chiron examples of all iterations.

5. 1990 Ferrari F40 ($2.8M - $3.4M)
Benefitted from a major service totalling over $70,000 in 2023.
Single ownership and fewer than 1,200 km (~746 miles) from new.

6. 1929 Duesenberg Model J 'Sweep Panel' Dual-Cowl Phaeton by LeBaron ($2.65M - $2.85M)
Well known ownership history; enjoyed by prominent Duesenberg enthusiasts for decades.

7. 1930 Mercedes-Benz 770 K Pullman Cabriolet by Voll & Ruhrbeck ($2.5M - $3M)
Originally delivered to King Faisal I of Iraq; used by three generations of Iraqi Royalty.

8. 1963 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Roadster ($2.2M - $2.7M)
Engine rebuilt in 2017 by the Mercedes-Benz Classic Centre of Stuttgart, Germany.

9. 1939 Mercedes-Benz 540 K Special Cabriolet A by Sindelfingen ($2M - $2.4M)
Previous winner of Best of Show at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.

10. 2015 McLaren P1 ($1.9M - $2.1M)
Number 117 of only 350 built.
