Anyone for coffee? Porsche creates 911-inspired espresso machine
Porsche and Italian coffee machine manufacturer La Marzocco have collaborated to create an espresso machine inspired by the iconic 911.
The espresso machine is available to buy in a classic Porsche Slate Grey Neo colour. For something with a little more colour, there’s a Martini Racing design option inspired by the 911 Carrera RSR, which won the Targa Florio endurance race in Sicily in 1973.
Smaller details on the espresso machine also nod to Porsche features. The twist handles for steam and hot water are similar to the drive mode switch seen on many of the brand’s models, while the magnetic drip tray and cup warmer use the same colour design as the Porsche 911 GT3 Touring Package. Analogue pressure gauges take inspiration from speedometers and aluminium, usually seen on Porsche alloys, is used on the rotary and portafilter handles.
The espresso machine will be unveiled this week at several locations around the world, including London, Los Angeles and Shanghai. Supply is limited and just 911 machines will be available to buy for £4,970 at Porsche Centres, on the Porsche online shop and in Porsche Design stores. These can be bought alongside matching accessories like an electric coffee grinder and matching espresso and cappuccino cups.
