Omoda 4 makes global debut in China ahead of 2026 UK release
The Omoda 4 is coming to the UK to challenge small SUVs like the Kia EV3 and Skoda Kamiq.
Unveiled in Wuhu, China and formerly known as Omoda 3, the B-segment-sized SUV will be offered to customers in the UK in late 2026, with both hybrid and full EV powertrain options a possibility.
Omoda has been selling cars in the UK since August 2024 and is owned by Chery, one of China’s biggest manufacturers. Currently, the Chinese brand’s ever-growing lineup includes the Omoda 5, E5 and 9, while the Omoda 7 mid-sized SUV is due to be released in Q1 of 2026.
The Omoda 4 will share the 7’s ‘O-Universe’ lightning bolt style lighting in the front and rear, while the exterior as a whole uses the new ‘Cyber Mecha’ design language. This fancy term is used to describe its mix of angular lines, metallic finishes, and other details inspired by robotics and science fiction comics.

Victor Zhang, UK Country Director, Omoda UK, said: “We launched Omoda [in the UK] in August 2024 with a bold vision for the UK market, and the addition of Omoda 4 further underpins our strategy – 2026 is going to be a great year as we add Omoda 7 and this, the Omoda 4, to the lineup.”
Full details of powertrain choices, trim levels and pricing for the Omoda 4 will be revealed in 2026. All sales come with Omoda’s 7-year/100,000-mile warranty and an 8-year warranty on the battery.
