New Renault Scenic E-Tech available for cut price £37,495

Renault has revealed an all-new entry-level Scenic E-Tech EV that costs £3,500 less than the previous lowest price version.

Priced at £37,495, the new Comfort Range version benefits from a 60kWh battery and has a range of up to 260 miles from a single charge. Yes, this is less than the 385 miles you’d expect from a higher-spec version but represents decent value and should tweak the interest of buyers who are potentially on the fence. The battery is paired with a 170bhp electric motor and has a 0-62mph time of 8.6 seconds.

The Comfort Range version benefits from the same charging options found in its 87kWh Long Range sibling and customers can recharge from 15-80% in just 32 minutes.

On the expansion of the Scenic E-Tech electric range, Guillaume Sicard, Country Head UK & Managing Director Renault Brand UK, said: “Renault is committed to democratising EV ownership and introducing the new 60kWh battery Comfort Range version was a logical decision, bringing our latest all-electric SUV within reach of a wider array of car buyers. With a range of up to 260 miles, it offers a great blend of value and usability to all customers, whether private, business or purchasing via Motability.”

The 170hp Comfort Range version comes with 19-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, front and rear full LED lights, electric flush door handles, electric folding door mirrors and logo puddle lights as standard.

Inside, there’s a 12.3-inch driver information display and 12-inch multimedia screen powered by Google while advanced driver assistance systems include intelligent adaptive cruise control, traffic and speed sign recognition, driver attention alert, distance warning alert, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, lane centring, active emergency braking system with pedestrian and cyclist detection and blind spot warning all feature.

The new Scenic E-Tech Comfort Range is available to order now from £37,495.
