MG Cyberster to Take on the Iconic Goodwood Hill at Festival of Speed

MG Cyberster

If you’re heading to the Goodwood Festival of Speed next month, then keep an eye out for the new Cyberster. The futuristically named car from MG Motors, which was revealed last month, will take two attempts at racing up the iconic hill to showcase its performance to a packed festival crowd.

For a closer look, the two-seater convertible will be on display on the main MG stand as well as the First Glance paddock, where a second Cyberster will be stationed. Festival goers will have the opportunity to glance over the ultramodern interior, with its advanced technology.

The Carl Gotham designed exterior which includes scissor doors and a Kammback tail amplifies its contemporary style, yet MG has taken inspiration from its rich heritage of convertible sports cars.

As well as the Cyberster, the First Glance paddock will host to two more EV performance cars from MG. Full details aren’t yet available, but the codenamed EX4 prototype as well as a second sporting EV are likely to be introduced, with the latter available for sale later this summer.

The Duke of Richmond, who worked tirelessly to revitalise Goodwood Festival of Speed into the event it is today, was thrilled with MG’s announcement, saying: “We are absolutely delighted that MG Motor UK will be returning to Goodwood this summer and honoured that it has chosen the Festival of Speed to host the global debut for the MG Cybster. With such rich history between Goodwood and MG and ahead of its centenary in 2024, I’m thrilled MG will be so much part of the Festival this year.”

For more Goodwood news over the next few weeks, keep an eye on Driven. John Marcar will be attending the event, this time as a guest of Bentley for a slightly different Driven Chat Podcast.
