Maserati Unveils Limited Edition MC20 Notte

Maserati MC20 Notte

Maserati has introduced the MC20 Notte, a limited edition MC20 which the Italian marque says ‘celebrates the daring spirit that has always propelled the Trident forward’. To celebrate its launch, Maserati’s global brand ambassador David Beckham and racing driver Andrea Bertolini are the stars of a short film which showcases the MC20 Notte on the racetrack and road. Alongside the short film are a set of striking images showing the car in its natural habitat at night.

Combining sportiness and luxury, the MC20 marked a return to the Trident’s supercar roots and the Notte Edition - limited to just 50 units globally - brings the car closer to its racing past with a roaring V6 Nettuno engine which incorporates F1-derived technologies.

Maserati’s Fuoriserie team collaborated with Maserati’s former GT1 world champion Bertolini to develop the MC20 bodywork which sits on top of 20-inch wheels. The car comes alive at night, changing from a glossy black shade to magnetic matte along with glow in the dark Maserati logos and signatures.

The interior features 6-way power sports seats in Alcantara black/grey with yellow stitching and a metal plate celebrating the MC20 Notte Edition along with a distinctive ‘UNA DI 50’ (one of 50) signature is applied between the two headrests. Alcantara is also on the steering wheel along with carbon fibre inserts.

“Fuoriserie means ‘custom-built’ in Italian, and our Trident’s customisation program is conceived to create one-of-a-kind rolling sculptures for our clients. MC20 Notte celebrates the thrill of racing and the allure of the night combining supreme performance and Italian elegance with a touch of mystery of the nocturnal world. It is the first Fuoriserie limited edition of MC20 and it is dedicated to super sportscar collectors and track enthusiasts”, said Klaus Busse, Head of Maserati Design.

It seems as if limited edition models are becoming more and more frequent - similarly seen in Ferrari’s one-off series - with companies looking to capitalise on cars which are already exclusive and make them even rarer, thus increasing their desirability. There’s no doubt that the MC20 Notte is a stunning car and if brands can take inspiration from their racing history - whilst implementing modern-day racing technology - then it will surely benefit the automotive industry as a whole.
