Lamborghini Temerario is finally revealed - 907bhp and 10,000 rpm!

Large crowds gathered at Monterey Car Week in California as Lamborghini debuted its Huracan successor.

Power and Performance

The Temerario - named after a fighting bull from 1875 - has a new hybrid powertrain combining a twin-turbo V8 (designed from scratch) with three electric motors, to produce 907bhp. The engine is the first and only production supercar engine capable of reaching 10,000 rpm, which helps enable a maximum speed of 210mph and a 0-62mph time of 2.7 seconds.

The Temerario is the second example of a Lamborghini ‘High Performance Electrified Vehicle’ (HPEV) and its unveiling represents the third step in Lamborghini’s electrification strategy, with the entire lineup - including Revuelto and Urus SE - now hybridised. The Italian brand also brought the Revuelto and Urus SE to Monterey to show off to eager fans.

Successor to the Huracan

The Temerario replaces the outgoing Huracan following 10 years of production since 2014. The Huracan’s significance to Lamborghini has been monumental, becoming the greatest selling supercar in the history of the brand since its release. Of course, the Urus is still top of the overall table as the most sold model, accounting for 60% of all Lamborghini sales.

Design and Features

In terms of its styling, the Temerario is a classic Lamborghini combining a muscular stance with an aerodynamic shape. A prominent fixed rear spoiler and wide diffuser are noticeable at first glance and new hexagonal light motifs are a nice touch, also. The whole car weighs 1,690kg, around 300kg heavier than the Huracan, although over 12kg can be saved by choosing the Alleggerita package with its lighter components.

Interior and Technology

Looking inside, there are three screens in the cabin. A 12.3-inch instrument panel and an 8.4-inch infotainment screen are located in front of the driver, while a 9.1-inch display is in front of the passenger seat. One of the features worth mentioning is the Lamborghini Vision Unit (LAVU), a system that uses three 4K cameras to allow drivers to relive and share their track and road driving experiences.

The seats can be adjusted to cool and heat through 18 different temperature settings and the cabin itself contains actual physical buttons and switches, a rarity in modern supercar times. Compared to its predecessor, the Temerario has improved legroom, headroom and storage space (112 litres).

Production and Pricing

Lamborghini isn’t currently taking orders on its latest creation and prices have yet to be revealed, although expect it to be north of £275,000. Production begins later this year following the conclusion of the Huracan and deliveries will likely begin in 2025.
