Lamborghini Revuelto: The First Super Sports V12 Hybrid HPEV
The Lamborghini Revuelto has been confirmed. 'Revuelto?' I hear you ask with confusion. Named after a fighting bull, tying it in thematically to the Lamborghini 'raging bull' logo, this car is expected to possess all the power and unpredictability of its given name.
While other brands have stepped completely into the electric market, Lamborghini has its feet in both camps with this all-new hybrid. A 6.5-litre naturally-aspirated V12 engine combined with three electric motors aligns this Lamborghini with modern industry trends. The three electric motors, one in the rear and two in each front wheel, and a 3.8kWh battery pack can power the Revuelto for short distances on electric power alone. However, they are mainly there to supplement the 12-cylinder petrol engine in its sure-to-be unbelievable performance. We are told it will go from 0-62mph in 2.5 and can reach 217mph plus top speed.
The Revuelto serves as a natural successor to the Aventador. However, it has taken inspiration from Lamborghinis of the past, with hints of the 1971 Countach and Diablo borrowed to create what we see today.
Its engine and electric motors develop a combined 747kW, making it the most powerful Lamborghini of all time. With all systems engaged at their fullest, you can expect 1,015 horsepower, driven by its new eight-speed, double-clutch automatic gearbox. It is lighter than its predecessor due to its now all-carbon fibre mono fuselage, a new aeronautics-inspired chassis. There are air intake ducts all over the car, ensuring optimal airflow to help with its combustion engine. The aerodynamics and design were chosen deliberately to express maximum synergy between efficiency, functionality, and style.
There are 13 driver modes. The zero-emissions mode, named Città (Italian for 'city'), is perfect for driving around villages in silence. It has 6.2 miles of EV range due to its 3.8kW battery, which is small by usual EV standards. The silence can soon be broken by the sound of the V12, which can be used to charge the battery in 6 minutes. Now it is certainly your choice whether or not to annoy the neighbours.
Lamborghini is probably the car brand responsible for the most posters on bedroom walls around the world. The Revuelto is certainly going to turn heads, but could they have been bolder with the design? That seems crazy to say, but time will tell.
The online opinion is varied, as it is with any new car, but it is already proving popular with potential consumers, having already formed a two-year waiting list.
The Lamborghini Revuelto is due for release in 2024.

Lamborghini Huracán Sterrato to make UK public debut at Salon Privé London
The Lamborghini Huracán Sterrato will make its UK public debut at Salon Privé London in Royal Hospital Chelsea on 20-22 April. Just 1,499 are due to be sold globally.
It has a 5.2 litre V10 engine producing 610PS; 0-62mph takes 3.4 seconds, and it is aided by a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and a rear mechanical self-locking differential.
It is one of many cars being exhibited by H.R. Owen Lamborghini at the show but is sure to be the pick of the bunch.
