KGM Motors UK launch all-new Torres

The recently rebranded KGM Motors has announced the launch of the all-new Torres, available in UK showrooms now.

The mid-sized SUV which KGM says is “inspired by the breathtaking landscapes of Torres del Paine National Park in Chile” is available in two trim levels - the entry-level K30 and the high-spec K40, both two-wheel drive with an all-wheel drive K40 coming this summer. For an alternative solution, an all-electric EVX version will be launched in April with a predicted range of 287 miles and power output of 207PS thanks to its 73.4kWh battery.

Powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine giving 280Nm of torque and a maximum output of 163PS, it has a 10% increase in acceleration compared to the 2023 Korando which shares the same engine.

The exterior’s styling is defined by its multiple edges and slotted grille. Despite being a mid-sized SUV, it is spacious inside and has 703 litres of boot space which can be increased to 1663 litres with the seats folded.

Inside the Torres, KGM describes how the “wide yet slim dashboard creates a spacious feel, providing an uninterrupted view of the road". The entry-level K30 trim is equipped with front and rear parking sensors, heated front seats, electric folding door mirrors, lane keep assist, blind spot monitor and reversing camera as standard. All information is presented on a twin-panoramic 12.3” digital display cluster and infotainment controls with Apple CarPlay, Google Android Auto, Bluetooth connectivity, DAB radio, and front USB & and AUX ports all available. Six cabin speakers accompany this

Kevin Griffin, managing director of KGM UK, said; “Torres is the first to reinterpret our future design vision, which draws heavily on our unique heritage. Its launch marks an exciting, new era for design, performance, and product with all models moving forward adhering to this new approach.

“The SUV market is continually expanding and subdividing, and with Torres, we are filling the gap between semi-medium-sized SUVs such as Korando and large SUVs like Rexton. This move will create an additional segment in the market and open new opportunities for us as we continue to develop our product offering that adds value and originality.”

Prices start from £34,995 for the Torres with K30 trim, while the K40 starts at £37,995.

KGM Motors UK adds Abbeygate Group Norfolk to its network

KGM Motors UK has announced the addition of Abbeygate Group to its dealer network. Abbeygate began trading in 1975 and has showrooms in south Norwich and Norfolk and are both open with immediate effect.

Kevin Griffin, managing director at KGM Motors UK, said “We are delighted to announce that Abbeygate has joined to our dealer network. Abbeygate Group has a wealth of knowledge in motor and customer experience, as well as small business friendliness and large dealer professionalism, which is why their customer retention is high. The business possesses qualities that we can relate to as a more niche distributor in the UK, and we are very much looking forward to working with the team and wholeheartedly welcome them on board.”
