Keanu Reeves makes pro racing debut in Indianapolis
Over the weekend, Keanu Reeves made his professional racing debut in the Toyota GR Cup at the famous Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Reeves, who won the 2009 Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach celebrity race, was teammates with Cody Jones from Dude Perfect and qualified 31st out of a 35 car field. The Matrix star had an eventful race, spinning into the grass halfway through the 45 minute event on the exit of turn nine and, at one point, placing as high as 21st. Racing in the No 92 BRZRKR car, a reference to a character from one of his novels, the 60 year old ultimately finished 25th in Saturday’s race, an impressive showing on his debut.
The actor returned to action a day later for his second race, this time finishing 24th.
Reeves is known to be a fan of F1 and was spotted in attendance at the 2022 British Grand Prix. He also hosted and produced ‘Brawn: The Impossible Formula 1 Story’, a documentary about the 2009 World Championship winning team.
