Honda to change H badge on future EV and hybrid models
Honda has revealed a refreshed design of its famous ‘H’ badge, which the brand says will symbolise its commitment to EV and hybrid-electric models in the future.
While it was originally introduced at the 2024 Consumer Electronics Show, as part of its prototype unveilings, this is the first time Honda has publicly committed to its future use.
The new ‘H’ will be introduced on Honda’s next-generation vehicles from 2027, including the proposed 0 series models, as it edges towards its 100% electric and hybrid target for its range in 2040. It will also be used in dealerships, on social media, and during motorsport activities, with Honda stating that the transformation of its ‘H’ is reflective of changes in the wider automotive industry.
The ‘H’ was first introduced in the early 1960s and has undergone several changes since, with the last taking place in 1981. The new badge is reminiscent of the original, which is meant to represent a pair of outstretched hands, symbolising ‘Honda’s intent to serve customers better’.
