Gordon Murray Automotive T.50s production car leads Goodwood lineup

As the 2026 Goodwood Festival of Speed draws ever closer, Gordon Murray has confirmed the four-car lineup which will appear at the event, led by the global public debut of the first customer T.50s Niki Lauda supercar.

The T.50s is chassis 1 of 25 track-only models built to celebrate Gordon Murray’s racing heritage and is finished in a South African flag-inspired livery over a white body in honour of Murray’s first Formula One victory in 1974 at Kyalami. There is also a gloss back race number ‘7’ in reference to the Brabham BT44 race-winning car driven by Carlos Reutemann. The special model will take on the Goodwood Hill at the Festival of Speed.

Record-setting S1 LM joins the party

Alongside the T.50s production car, Gordon Murray will also showcase the S1 LM design model for its first appearance in Europe. The car made headlines ahead of last year’s Las Vegas Grand Prix, where it sold for a record‑setting $20 million at the new amfAR charity Gala. The modern take on the 1995 Le Mans-winning McLaren F1 GTR is now the most expensive non-charitable new car ever sold at auction.

As well as the S1 LM itself, the winning bidder’s spend earned him personal specification sessions with Professor Gordon Murray to tailor the car to their taste, and the chance to participate in development drives alongside three-time Indy 500 winner Dario Franchitti.

Dynamic debuts for two prototypes

Finishing the four-strong lineup are the new Le Mans GTR XP prototype and the first global public showing of the T.33 Spider validation prototype. Both models will also take on the Hill in what will be their first dynamic appearances.

The Gordon Murray Le Mans GTR XP1 is an experimental prototype of the forthcoming ultra-exclusive production run of 24 models which draws inspiration from Murray’s own longtail Le Mans racers and other endurance cars.

The open-top T.33 Spider model is powered by GMA’s naturally aspirated 3.9‑litre V12, and the prototype heading to Goodwood is one of the final ‘Validation Prototype’ models that engineers are testing on the road to production.

Gordon Murray’s Goodwood connection continues

Goodwood is undoubtedly a special place for Gordon Murray, with last year’s event seeing the legendary car designer honoured as part of the 75th years of Formula One celebrations.

Gordon Murray Automotive was also the featured marque at last year’s Festival of Speed and was the theme of the Central Feature in front of Goodwood House. The brand has also appeared multiple times at the Goodwood Members’ Meeting.

Dario Franchitti said: “Goodwood is one of the greatest events in the automotive calendar – the atmosphere, the fans and the proximity to the cars are unlike anything else. To see – and hear – multiple Gordon Murray V12 cars running up the Hill, especially the first customer T.50s, is something truly special. It’s a privilege to share these cars with such enthusiastic and knowledgeable customers and fans.”

The 2026 Goodwood Festival of Speed takes place between Thursday 9 and Sunday 12 July.
