General Motors’ SUVs and Pickups now officially available to buy in the UK

Forget tractors, vans and lorries, there are set to be other large vehicles you might want to look out for in the future when tackling Britain’s narrow country roads.

Yes, this is because GM Specialty Vehicles has officially launched in the UK, meaning people in the UK can order some of General Motors’ SUVs and pick-up trucks. The likes of the Cadillac Escalade‑V, GMC Yukon Denali, and Chevrolet Silverado will all be available to buy with full UK homologation, along with a three-year manufacturer warranty, financing, aftersales and service support.

Luxury and performance car importer Clive Sutton will offer these gigantic American cars through its new London premises and wider retailer network.

Jean-Pierre Diernaz, Managing Director GM Europe, said: “We're excited to be working with Clive Sutton to bring to UK customers our iconic North America vehicles. We've selected incredible vehicles from our global brands – Cadillac, GMC and Chevrolet – through a dedicated GM facility in North West London and the nationwide network of retailers that is set to follow.”

What is available in the GM Specialty Vehicles line-up?

Cadillac

At the top of the Cadillac range is the Escalade-V model, available to buy from £199,950. This is powered by a 6.2-litre supercharged V8 putting out 672bhp and managing a thirsty 14.3 mpg.

In second place is the long-wheelbase Cadillac Escalade ESV in Sport Platinum trim, available from £180,000. The 5.76 metre SUV puts out 414bhp and manages 16.7 mpg thanks to its 6.2-litre V8.

The most ‘affordable’ Cadillacs available are Luxury Premium and Sport Premium trim level Escalade models, both starting at £149,950.

Other SUVs

Other premium SUVs on offer include the GMC Yukon Denali, available from £110,000, the Chevrolet Suburban (£100,000) and the Chevrolet Tahoe (£96,000). All are fitted with the same 6.2-litre V8 engine as the entry-level Escalades, putting out 414bhp.

Pick-up trucks

Clive Sutton is also offering several pick-up trucks as part of its new American fleet.

GMC’s offerings consist of the Sierra 1500 Denali from £75,000+VAT and Sierra 1500 AT4 models from £73,000+VAT. There is also the Chevrolet Silverado, which comes in three trims ranging from £66,000 to £72,000+VAT. All pick-ups put out 414bhp.
