Ford Escort and RS200 set to return thanks to Boreham Motorworks

The seal of approval from Ford sets these recreations apart from the rest.

British company Boreham Motorworks will produce a series of continuation and remastered iconic Ford vehicles after signing a worldwide, brand licence agreement with the Ford Motor Company. Part of the DRVN Automotive Group, Boreham will manufacture and distribute the legendary Ford RS200 as its first new vehicle, while the first continuation vehicle will be the Ford MK1 Escort.

The Ford RS200 Returns

First launched in 1984 and produced for only two years, the Ford RS200 was engineered to compete in the World Rally Championship and will return on its 40th anniversary entirely new and built from the ground up. It became one of the most sought after rally cars thanks to its mid-engine layout, advanced four-wheel-drive system and a lightweight composite body.

The Ford MK1 Escort's Revival

The Ford MK1 Escort will be Boreham Motorworks’ first continuation model, carrying on the Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) from the original production run in the 1960s. Rather than a complete rebuild like the RS200, the MK1 will centre around the features that made the original so revered and successful in motorsport with its lightweight design and advanced suspension setup.

A Vision for the Modern Era

Limited Production and Exclusive Experience

As is the case with many of these recreations, the number of vehicles produced will be extremely limited and Boreham will offer customers the chance to experience driving its cars on an invitation only basis. Five further Ford vehicles are set to be released across the series and the Ford MK1 Escort will be seen in public later this year.

Ford's Motorsport Ambitions

Ford will also step up its attempts to return to the pinnacle of motorsport, with the Mustang GT3 recently making its debut at Le Mans while the new Ford Raptor will compete at the 2025 Dakar Rally.
