Fiat reveals first pictures of new Grande Panda
Fiat has revealed the first pictures of its new Grande Panda, a model inspired by the 4x4 1980s Panda and available in both hybrid and electric versions.
This year marks the 125th anniversary of Fiat and the Grande Panda will be the first of a new series of releases set to come to market, with one new model a year planned until 2027.
As previously mentioned, the boxy shape is reminiscent of the first Panda model but also evokes styling elements from other brands’ hatchbacks, like the Renault 5. Contemporary features have been added to bring the new generation of Panda to the modern day, such as pixel LED lights on a headlight bar at the front and similar pixel-styled rear tail lights.
Chunky 17-inch alloy wheels reaffirm the boxiness of the new model and ‘PANDA’ is boldly pressed into the bodywork along the side, just in case you forget what you’re driving. The new Panda is just under 4 metres long and has room for five people.
Available in both hybrid and electric versions, the Grande Panda will use the Smart Car platform seen on the new Citroen C3 and Vauxhall Frontera. Based on the C3, this should equate to around 200 miles of range.
Pricing has yet to be announced by Fiat, though estimates suggest that prices could begin around the £20k mark. It is expected to be released towards the end of 2024.
