Ferrari reveal its 2024 F1 challenger, the SF-24
Ferrari became the latest team to showcase its new challenger for the 2024 F1 season in a highly anticipated online presentation from Maranello.
The SF-24 was unveiled with a typical deep red livery and, like all of the other liveries we’ve seen so far, some hints of carbon fibre and distinctive yellow and white stripes along the side.
Attention has been firmly fixed on Ferrari lately with the recent announcement of the signing of Lewis Hamilton for the 2025 season. The team will be hoping to get into fighting shape ahead of his arrival and potentially challenge for their first constructors’ championship since 2008 and first drivers’ title since Kimi Räikkönen won in 2007.
Present at the online presentation in their new red race suits, which have swapped black accents for a mix of white and yellow, were this season’s drivers Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz. This will be Sainz’s last season at the Prancing Horse and his victory last season was the only to be had by a non-Red Bull driver.
Initial signs are encouraging as the SF-24 was given its first shakedown on Tuesday, with Leclerc and Sainz both getting three laps each in the car. Leclerc said it felt “healthier” compared to last year and a full filming day across 200km will take place on Wednesday.
All eyes are now on pre-season testing in Bahrain starting February 21st.
