British jewellery company Boodles and Mulliner, Bentley’s in-house coachbuilding and bespoke division, have collaborated to create a one-of-one Bentley Continental GTC. The unique bespoke commission will be shown at Jack Barclays in London on April 11th.

The collaboration began in May 2023 when some of the Boodles creative team visited the Mulliner workshop to thrash out ideas on the finer aspects of the commission. The resulting creation is presented in an Anthracite exterior finish with a light grey fabric roof and sits on 22” Mulliner wheels. It’s hard to miss Boodles’ influence on the car, as its signature Powder Pink is used as a pinstripe around the edge of the front spoiler, sills and rear spoiler. A ‘Boodles 1798’ exterior badge in grey with chrome text appears on the front fender and when you open the doors, a lamp projects the Boodles logo on to the ground beneath you.

In the cockpit, the Linin upholstery hide is paired with pale grey Porpoise secondary hide on seat backs, fascia top roll, gear lever and steering wheel. At the same time, Powder Pink is again used as an accent colour on the steering wheel tab, inner door pockets and console side pocket lowers, as well as the seat piping and hand cross-stitching that traces the outline of seats, fascia, console, and waist rails.

The door panels and upper seat backs feature the ‘Be Boodles’ interlocking motif that required 278,566 stitches and took six hours to complete. To add to the luxury feel, a pair of diamond-set ‘B’ emblems, created in 18ct Single Mine Origin white gold has been worked into the centre console and a pair of embroidered cushions have been crafted to finish off the truly unique and luxurious interior.

Mulliner made use of advanced laser-cutting techniques to create bespoke details in the cabin and the dials, bezels, air vents and controls are framed in the company’s Knurling Specification which gives them a “jewel like finish”. The Bentley Rotating Display includes a central dial with the Boodles jewellery motif, while other bespoke touches include Boodles illuminated door sills and ‘one of one’ engraved treadplates.

Both Bentley and Boodles can trace their origins back to the 1700s and this one-off commission is a testament to what can be achieved when giant, historic brands choose to collaborate.

The Boodles/Mulliner Continental GTC commission will be offered for sale from the 11th of April onwards.
