Big name drivers and riders confirmed for Goodwood Revival 2024

goodwood revival

September’s Goodwood Revival will see the attendance of a host of big names from the world of motorsport as championship winning drivers and riders make their way to Sussex for the esteemed event.

Sustainable fuels only

It was confirmed in November last year that sustainable fuels would be exclusively used across the entire weekend, becoming the world’s first historic motorsport event to do so. Competitors are required to use a fuel with at least 70% advanced sustainable components, as seen in FIA sustainable fuel rules. Goodwood’s Revive & Thrive ethos strives to encourage the use of sustainable fuel and ensure the future of classic combustion engine cars.

One of the most high profile advocates of this message is former F1 driver Sebastian Vettel, who drove two cars on sustainable fuel at the 2023 Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Formula 1 legends assemble

The Revival will see stars from Formula 1 gather, including three-time world champion Sir Jackie Stewart and 1997 title winner Jacques Villeneuve. Festival of Speed hill climb record holder Max Chilton (seen in the video below) will be present alongside fellow former F1 drivers David Brabham, Derek Bell, Jochen Mass and Karun Chandhok. Two-time Formula E champion and former Toro Rosso driver Jean-Éric Vergne completes a stellar lineup.

Representation from the world of two wheels

Acclaimed riders from the British Superbike Championship, Isle of Man TT, MotoGP, Suzuka 8 Hours and World Superbike Championship will be present at the Revival. Names include Bradley Smith, Carlos Checa, Leon Haslam, Tommy Bridewell, Tommy Hill and Jeremy McWilliams - who will make his Revival debut. Isle of Man TT legends Davey Todd, James Hillier, John McGuinness, Lee Johnston and Michael Rutter will also join proceedings in September.

Nine iconic endurance racers

With a combined 29 Le Mans wins between them, endurance racing will be strongly represented as André Lotterer, Darren Turner, Emanuele Pirro, Rinaldo Capello, Marcel Fässler, Neel Jani, Romain Dumas, Tom Kristensen and Alex Brundle make their way to Goodwood for some sustainably fuelled motorsport. Kristensen is a nine-time winner of the famous French endurance and also competed at the Revival’s first sustainably fuelled battle - the Fordwater Trophy.

Appearances from Touring Car drivers

Drivers who have competed and won championships in the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) and World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) will join the party in Sussex. These include BTCC champions Andrew Jordan, Colin Turkington, Gordon Shedden, Matt Neal and current championship leader Tom Ingram. WTCC champions Andy Priaulx and Rob Huff complete the set with Priaulx recently taking the role as Aubigny House Captain at the Goodwood Members’ Meeting.

Bonus drivers and riders

If that wasn’t already enough, winners of a combined 26 championships across their respective fields will join proceedings at the famous motor circuit. These include four-time IndyCar champion Dario Franchitti, ten time Isle of Man TT winner Giacomo Agostini and seven time NASCAR Cup Series champion Jimmie Johnson.

Goodwood Revival runs from 6-8 September. Limited tickets are still available for Friday and Sunday at goodwood.com.
