Audi F1 reveals official team name and Berlin launch date

Introducing the Audi Revolut F1 Team.

This will be the official team name for Audi, which is set to embark on its debut season in Formula One next year after taking over the reins from Sauber.

Audi’s title partnership with global fintech Revolut was announced back in July, and fans will be able to see what the German giants’ first challenger is on January 20, when its livery is revealed in Berlin. There will also be an opportunity for fans to see the car up close in all its glory at a public opening the following day.

Audi revealed its R26 Concept in November

Audi has said its desire to enter the world of Formula One was due to its global reach and the incoming FIA regulation changes in the sport, which see the use of sustainable fuels and an increase (up to 50%) in electricity used in the hybrid drive unit.

The team unveiled its R26 concept car last month, which previewed its ‘visual identity’ and design principles ahead of its first appearance on the F1 grid. Audi will carry over Sauber’s driver lineup from 2025, with Niko Hulkenberg and Gabriel Bortoleto retaining their places in the sport.

Other changes as part of the formation of the Audi Revolut F1 Team see Sauber Motorsport AG renamed as Audi Motorsport AG, while the team’s Technology Centre in Bicester will be renamed Audi Motorsport Technology Centre UK.

“Another major milestone on our journey”

Gernot Döllner, CEO of AUDI AG and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sauber Motorsport AG: “Unveiling the Audi Revolut F1 Team name and logo marks another major milestone on our journey into the pinnacle of motorsport. Both give our ambition a clear identity, reflecting a strong vision and innovative spirit. We now look ahead to Berlin in January, where we will officially present this exciting new chapter for the Audi brand to the world.”
