Alpine’s Electric Future to be Displayed at Goodwood

Alpine’s electric future will be on display at Goodwood Festival of Speed next month, as the French brand showcases things to come to thousands of fans in attendance, taking on several climbs of the Goodwood Hill in the process.

Since Alpine Cars, Renault Sports Cars and Renault Sport Racing joined forces in 2021 under the Alpine banner, the brand has tried to be innovative and future-focused, whilst embracing its rich past full of racing heritage and some of the best craftsmanship and engineering.

Having recently unveiled the Alpine A290_β in Bristol last month, the EV hot hatch will be at Goodwood to take on the 1.16-mile Hill during the fourt day event. Driven by Alpine’s development driver, David Praschl, the car will be part of the First Glance display, giving an insight into the future of the brand.

In Goodwood’s Electric Avenue, the home of electric mobility at the Festival of Speed, will be the Alpine A110 E-ternité. The lightweight, open top, 100% electric sports car could almost be mistaken for a Porsche at first glance but is another avenue that Alpine will be pursuing as it transforms and adapts to a new future.

The new Alpine A110 R, which was the blueprint in providing the Pikes Peak iteration which competed in Colorado, will make four runs up the famous Goodwood Hill on Thursday 13th July. It has a 300hp turbocharged engine, helping it get from 0-62mph in 3.9 seconds and enhancements to its body and chassis have helped with a significant reduction in weight, whilst subsequently improving performance and handling.

In more A110 R related news, the limited edition Alpine A110 R Le Mans which celebrates the centenary celebrations of Le Mans, will also take on the Hill during the four day event. Based on the A110 R, the Le Mans edition features carbon wheels with blue lining and brake callipers, a shark fin inspired by the Alpine A480 LMP1 race car, plus Le Mans scripts in the interior. Only 100 will ever be made, so for the opportunity to see it in person, Goodwood is the place to be.

Following the recent unveiling of Alpine’s new A424 hypercar at Le Mans, this represents an exciting period for the French brand. Further announcements about Alpine’s plans are expected during the festival, including news about a further, special edition Alpine that will be set to appear at some point throughout the weekend.
