2025 Formula 1 season to begin in Australia

The Formula 1 season will begin in Melbourne in 2025 with the Australian Grand Prix returning to its traditional position on the calendar.

Since its addition to the F1 calendar in 1996, the race in Melbourne typically kicked off the season however that run was halted in 2020 due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. The season will begin there on 14-16 March and end in Abu Dhabi on the weekend of 5-7 December.

This season’s championship began in Bahrain followed by Saudi Arabia and both races took place on a Saturday due to the holy month of Ramadan. Ramadan will take place during March 2025 and this has been taken into account with both races now being moved to mid-April

Changes have consciously been made to the calendar this season to keep races closer together geographically. That will continue in 2025, with the five races in Australasia and Asia and ten races in Europe happening consecutively. The summer break remains in August and teams will have three weeks between the Hungarian and Dutch Grands Prix.

The British Grand Prix at Silverstone will be on the weekend of 4-6 July.
