The Grand Tour begins new era with three replacement hosts

A glimpse into life after Clarkson, Hammond and May has been revealed today with the reveal of the new hosts of The Grand Tour.
The original trio’s eight years at the helm ended in The Grand Tour’s final episode, One for the Road, which aired in September 2024.
Francis Bourgeois, James Engelsman and Thomas Holland will form a new trio set to host the upcoming series, after months of speculation regarding the future of the show. The new six-part series — which will see the new hosts travel to Angola, Malaysia and California — is set to air later this year on Prime Video, and will apparently “honour the show’s legacy while driving it into a new era” and be “packed with big adventure, big horsepower and big laughs”.
Bourgeois, known to many for his train-spotting antics on social media, was tipped to take on the role last year and has garnered nearly six million across all platforms. Despite his overwhelming love of trains, he has experience in the automotive world and is a qualified mechanical engineer with time spent at Rolls-Royce.
Engelsman and Holland have previously worked together on the car-related YouTube channel Throttle House. The channel, which focuses on car reviews and track tests, has amassed over three million subscribers since it was launched in 2011.
The new trio have already been given the literal stamp of approval by former host Jeremy Clarkson in a video shared on Instagram.
‘Only a moron would take that job’
The new hosts spoke about the unenviable task of replacing possibly the most revered automotive presenting team in broadcasting.
Bourgious said: “The saying ‘big shoes to fill’ spring to mind. Well, in this case it’ll be like Mo Farah running in Size 14 wellies — it’ll be a little awkward at first, perhaps blister inducing but will overall be an interesting watch."
Engelsman added": "I've worked with Thomas for almost a decade making car films. Who knew that all this time, the one ingredient that was missing was a Francis Bourgeois? Let the car adventures commence."
Holland joked: "When I first heard they were rebooting The Grand Tour and replacing Clarkson Hammond and May, I said, 'Only a moron would take that job.'"
