New research by the UK’s leading driver training company for under-17s, Young Driver, has revealed that nervousness, rather than a lack of technical skills, is the leading cause of failures.

Other proposals put forward by the government include reducing the legal drink driving limit and making eye tests for over-70s mandatory.

Driver safety is set to be a priority, and some of the most notable changes see stricter drink-driving limits, mandatory eyesight tests for elderly drivers and tougher seatbelt laws.
