Red Bull set for Goodwood Festival of Speed return
Two iconic cars will take on the Goodwood Hill
Red Bull will return to Goodwood as the 2025 Festival of Speed celebrates 75 years of Formula One.
The Milton Keynes-based team will bring along a full lineup of race cars from each year it has competed in the sport since its debut at the 2005 Australian GP. There will also be appearances from a selection of drivers, including 13-time race winner David Coulthard and Red Bull’s longest-serving exhibition driver, Patrick Friesacher.
Coulthard and Friesacher will take on the Goodwood Hill climb in the RB7 and RB8, which Sebastian Vettel drove to Drivers’ and Constructors’ Championship title wins for Red Bull in 2011 and 2012.
Sim racing to be represented
Red Bull’s Sim Racing team will also be present at the event as part of the dedicated Esports area of the Ballroom Paddock. Two sim rigs will give fans the opportunity to set lap times on the Oracle Leaderboard against three-time F1 Sim Racing World Champion, Jarno Opmeer, who will be attending on Friday and Saturday. Two-time iRacing World Champion Sebastian Job will also be making an appearance on Sunday.
RB17 returns
After its unveiling at last year’s Festival of Speed, the RB17 will return to be displayed in the main paddock for the duration of the weekend.
The hypercar is the brainchild of Adrian Newey and Red Bull Advanced Technologies and features a two-seater carbon fibre monocoque chassis with a mid-mounted 4.5 litre naturally aspirated V10 engine that produces 1,200 hp and 15,000 rpm. It weighs less than 900kg and has a top speed of around 217 mph. Only 50 will be produced.
Christian Horner, CEO of Oracle Red Bull Racing and Red Bull Advanced Technologies, said: “After a hugely successful celebration of Red Bull Racing’s 20th season in Formula One last year, we are excited to return to the Goodwood Festival of Speed. I’m thrilled to showcase such a remarkable selection of cars at the iconic festival and look forward to celebrating the 75th anniversary of F1 in front of such passionate motorsport fans.”
The Goodwood Festival of Speed takes place from Thursday 10 July – Sunday 13 July.
