Race Schedule for Sustainably Fuelled 2024 Goodwood Revival Released

Goodwood Revival

Goodwood has announced its race schedule for Goodwood Rival, the world’s first historic motorsport event to race exclusively with sustainable fuel. Taking place between Friday 6th - Sunday 8th September 2024, a total of 13 races will take place in an enthralling weekend of classic car action.

A full timetable and entry list will be released in the final weeks leading up to the event and are subject to change. But for now, this is what the Goodwood Revival has in store.

Sussex Trophy – World Championship sportscars from 1955-1960
Taking place on the Friday evening, and for the first time in ten years, this is a 60 minute two driver race that contains a selection of ‘50s and early ‘60s World Championship sportscars. The likes of the Lotus 15, Lister-Jaguar Knobbly and Ferrari 246S Dino are potential features in an event that has been closely run in the past.

Madgwick Cup – Under 2.5-lite sports racing cars from 1955-1960
Named after the trickiest corner on the Goodwood Motor Circuit and back after missing the 2023 Revival, this race will showcase some of the best small engined sports racing cars from 1955 - 1960 going head to head. The Lotus 11, Lola Mk1 and Cooper Bobtail are likely to feature in this nostalgic battle.

Goodwood Trophy – Grand Prix and Voiturette cars from 1930-1951
The Goodwood Trophy is the oldest race at the Revival and will feature a collection of 1930s, ‘40s and ‘50s Grand Prix and Voiturette cars from famous brands like Maserati and Alfa Romeo.

Barry Sheene Memorial Trophy Part One – Pre-1955 Grand Prix motorcycles
Of course, it isn’t just cars that will be at the 2024 Revival. The Barry Sheene Memorial Trophy will see pre-1955 Grand Prix motorcycles pitted against each other featuring the likes of the Matchless G80 CS, Vincent Black Shadow and Manx Norton.

Stirling Moss Memorial Trophy - Pre-1963 GT cars
In the seventh edition of the Stirling Moss Memorial Trophy, pre-1963 GT cars will take to the track in what is sure to be one of the most beautiful sights in the entire event. Some of the most valuable and pristine cars like the Jaguar E-type, AC Cobra, Aston Martin DB4GT and Ferrari 250 SWB will feature.

Whitsun Trophy – Sports-racing prototypes from 1960-1966
The Whitsun Trophy will see prototypes from 1960-1966 in action, with the Lola T70 Spyder, McLaren M1B and Ford GT40 just a small selection of what will be seen on track. Try not to blink though as this is expected to be the quickest race of the weekend.

Fordwater Trophy – Production-based sports and GT cars from 1955-1960
The 2023 Revival edition of this race saw a grid of Porsche 911s compete using sustainable fuel, inspiring the use of it to be mandatory across the entire event in 2024. The entry list for the Fordwater Trophy will include the Triumph TR3, MGA, Porsche 356 and Jaguar XK140 in a race packed with production-based sports and GT cars from 1955-1960.

St Mary’s Trophy Part One – 1960s saloon cars

The St Mary’s Trophy will contain 1960s saloon cars including the Lotus Cortina, Ford Galaxie 500 and Alfa Romeo Giulia Spring GTA.

Earl of March Trophy – 500c Formula 3 cars
500cc Formula 3 cars will compete against each other in what is one of the most popular races of the weekend. The distinctive sound of 500cc motorcycle engines will be heard across West Sussex.

Richmond & Gordon Trophies – 2.5-litre Grand Prix cars from 1954-1960
Celebrating Grand Prix cars built between 1954 and 1960, the Richmond & Gordon Trophies renew the spirit of the early days of Formula 1. Expect to see the Lotus 16, Cooper T53 and Maserati 250F among those on the grid.

RAC TT Celebration – closed-cockpit GT and prototype cars from 1960 to 1964
Honouring the period when flagship RAC TT racing was held at Goodwood, this race is one of the most anticipated of the entire weekend and embodies the spirit of Goodwood. Jaguar E-Types, AC Cobras and the Bizzarrini 5300GT are all expected to take to the track.

Glover Trophy – 1.5 litre Grand Prix cars from 1961-1965
The Glover Trophy will celebrate some of the later years of Revival vehicles, with Grand Prix cars like the Lotus 25, BRUM P261 and Brabham BT7 on the grid. It will honour legendary racers including Sir Jackie Stewart, Jim Clark and Graham Hill who featured in this era.

Freddie March Memorial Trophy – For cars in the spirit of the Goodwood Nine Hour races
