Porsche expands electric SUV lineup with £89k Macan GTS

Porsche has added a new competitor to the 2026 SUV market with the reveal of its ‘particularly sporty and driver-focused’ Macan GTS.

For Porsche, the use of GTS has been a fixture since it was given to the 904 Carrera GTS released in 1963 and holds significant importance to enthusiasts all over the world. Now, the fifth variant of the Macan Electric - after the base Macan, Macan 4, Macan 4S, and Macan Turbo - it will adopt the famous initials, with Porsche saying the GTS ‘sets new standards for agility and driving dynamics’.

Performance figures & range

So what do the numbers say?

In terms of speed, you can expect the Macan GTS to accelerate from 0-62 mph in 3.8 seconds, 0-124 mph in 13.3 seconds and reach a top speed of 155 mph. This is all thanks to the 563bhp of output derived from the electric motor on the front axle, along with overboost power coming from Launch Control.

However, while driving experience is a factor to consider for many potential EV buyers, even more will be more concerned about the range available on those long journeys. The Macan GTS offers up to 364 miles of it, with the 100 kWh battery able to fast charge from 10-80% in 21 minutes.

Porsche says the Macan GTS delivers its power in ‘true sports car style’ and has the lowest centre of gravity in the model line. The SUV has a 100mm lower ride height, along with a model-specific damper and anti-roll bar tuning for more precise cornering. An all-wheel-drive system with fast-reacting electronic Traction Management and Torque Vectoring Plus is included as standard to complement its 48:52 rear-biased weight distribution.

Exterior

How does the Macan GTS exterior differ from the other electric Macans?

The new SUV adopts signature styling elements seen on Porsche GTS models from the past, like black painted details on the front, sides and rear. Porsche will also offer a new Sport Design Package for all Macan models, which includes new front and rear aprons, with the GTS the first model to receive it.

Tinted Matrix LED headlights match similar looking taillights and are separated by redesigned side skirts made wider towards the rear. As for wheels, the GTS sits on 21-inch Macan Design alloy wheels in Anthracite Grey as standard, while customers also have the option of 22-inch RS Spyder Design wheels in the same finish.

Three new colours - Carmine Red, Lugano Blue and Crayon - will join the 15 others available via the Porsche Car Configurator, while the German brand’s Exclusive Manufaktur offers nearly 60 additional shades through its Paint to Sample programme.

Interior

Inside, the sporty design principles continue with the extended use of Race-Tex upholstery on the heated GT sports steering wheel, armrests, door panels and dashboard, which houses a 12.6-inch driver's display, a 10.9-inch touchscreen and an optional 10.9-inch passenger touchscreen. The Race-Tex is complemented by black smooth leather used on the seat bolsters and headrests.

The optional GTS Interior Package allows the colours on the exterior and interior to be matched for the first time on a Macan Electric. Available in Carmine Red, Slate Grey Neo or Lugano Blue colours, the package also adds carbon fibre trim to the steering wheel, dashboard and door panels.

Price & release date

The Porsche Macan GTS is available to order immediately, with first deliveries due to take place in early 2026. Prices start from £89,000, placing it between the £76,900 4S and £97,000 Macan Turbo.
