Peugeot reveals seven-seater electric SUV, the e-5008
Peugeot has revealed its new E-5008 setting a new benchmark becoming the only electric SUV to offer seven seats, the choice of three powertrains and up to 410 miles of range.
Borrowing styling from the new E-3008, the E,5008 has a wide grille with angular LED headlights and claw mark lights on either side. It has a 2.9m wheelbase sitting on new alloy wheel options and a total length of 4.79m.
The new Peugeot E-5008 is built on the Stellantis STLA-M platform and is offered with the choice of three powertrains. The entry point uses a 210hp single motor, with a 73kWh battery offering 311 miles of range. The 230hp Long Range single motor offers a 410-mile range - one of the most impressive currently out there - thanks to its 98kWh battery and looks to be the most tempting. It isn’t the top spec, however, that comes in the form of a 320hp Dual Motor AWD which offers 311 miles of range due to its 73kWh battery.
Rapid charging times are a bonus, a 20% to 80% charge being possible in 30 minutes and speeds of 160kWh. Also available at launch is a 48V mild hybrid version which couples a 136hp petrol engine with a dual-clutch six-speed automatic gearbox and incorporated electric motor. A plug-in hybrid is also due to be released in 2025.
Inside the seven-seater is a large cabin and panoramic glass roof with the driver seats treated to a 21-inch curved touchscreen that contains the display and infotainment. The new Peugeot Panoramic i-Cockpit has two control stalks behind the compact steering wheel and two paddles to move between the three levels of regenerative braking.
In the boot there is 259 litres of space, however fold down the rear row and that increases to 748 litres. If you prefer to leave just the front two seats up, you get a whopping 1,815 litres. There's also further storage space below the boot floor.
There is a choice of six available colours: Obsession Blue, Ingaro Blue, Okenite White, Nera Black, Cumulus Grey, and Titane Grey.
The new E-5008 is available to order in autumn 2024 and covered for up to 8 years/100,000 miles with the new Peugeot Allure Care programme, the longest coverage of any European brand. Pricing has yet to be announced.
