New MG4 EV XPOWER Pricing and Spec Revealed

It is another electric entry into the market from MG, as pricing and spec have been revealed for its new hatchback, the MG4 EV XPOWER, ahead of its debut this month. Hot on the heels of the Cyberster, this represents a further venture into the EV market, with the XPOWER being MG’s most powerful production car yet.

In terms of EVs, a starting price of £36,495 represents decent value for a car delivering 435PS and up to 600Nm of torque, thanks to its dual motor powertrain. A 0-62mph time of 3.8 is rapid and for a hatchback, largely unheard of, putting it up there with the top high-performance hatchbacks on the market.  This seems to be a car as comfortable on corners as it is in a straight line thanks to an all-new dynamic Cornering Control System that will be available for the first time on an MG, featuring a locking electronic differential and Intelligent Motor Control to allow torque vectoring between all four wheels. Who knows, this may be the EV to convert petrolheads still on the fence about making the switch.

Some finer details include orange ‘XPOWER’ brake callipers, a two-tone black roof, 18” alloy wheels and polished trim accents, and an exclusive new Racing Green colour option.

Orders for the MG4 XPOWER hatchback can be placed this month for a car that is likely to be one of the most exciting new EVs on the market.

MG at Goodwood

We’ve previously brought you news of the MG Cyberster taking on the Goodwood Hill this month during the Festival of Speed. However, MG Motor UK has also revealed a new concept car, the MG EX4, that will be shown in the First Glance paddock at the event from Thursday 13th July. A tantalising set of darkened images is all we have so far until the full reveal but what we do know is that is it a take on the Metro 6R4 rally from the 1980s that has been reimagined and underpinned by the MG4 XPOWER’s electric drivetrain. It will also feature a livery designed by MG’s team in London, especially for Goodwood, celebrating 40 years of Metro 6R4.
