Mazda 6e to make UK public debut at CarFest 2025

Festival goers will be the first to get a glimpse of the new Mazda 6e as it rolls into CarFest 2025 for its UK public debut.

The 6e was initially unveiled at the Brussels Motor Show in January, with the Japanese brand calling it a “stylish electric hatchback with a fastback saloon style”. It is set to arrive in UK showrooms in 2026, but before that, Mazda will be present at CarFest 2025 as the sponsor of the StarFest and Club CarFest stages, and with a special stand adjacent to the start line of the festival’s demo track.

A fresh take on the Mazda 6

As more and more brands move towards electrification, Madza calls the 6e a “fresh take” on a model it has produced since 2002.

While the UK’s final spec has yet to be revealed, Europeans will get the choice of two powertrains in the form of 68.8kWh or 80kWh battery options.

The 68.8kWh version offers a range of up to 300 miles, a 10 to 80 per cent charging time with a 200kW DC charger in 22 minutes and produces 254bhp, allowing a 0-62mph time of 7.6 seconds.

The 80kWh version enables a larger range of up to 345 miles, a 10 to 80 per cent charge in 45 minutes and produces 240bhp, giving it a 0-62mph time of 7.8 seconds. Both versions produce the same 320Nm of torque with a rear-wheel drive layout.

Mazda UK, Marketing Director, James Crouch, said: “Carfest is the perfect place to showcase our new all-electric Mazda6e to the UK public for the first time. This car marks a bold step into Mazda’s electric future and we can’t wait to show it to the broad audience at this unique event”.

What is CarFest?

Founded by TV and radio presenter Chris Evans, CarFest combines motoring, music, food and celebrity appearances for three days of fun in the sun across seven separate stages, all while raising funds for UK children’s charities. Over £27 million has been raised so far since the festival’s inception fourteen years ago.

The StarFest Stage, which Mazda are sponsoring, will see appearances from comedians Chris McCausland, Lee Mack and Rob Brydon, plus actor Ben Miller, food critic Tom Parker-Bowles and SAS Who Dares Wins star Billy Billingham. In the evenings, the space transforms into Club CarFest, where DJs Mista Jam, Chris Watson, and DJ Tobes will all take the stage.

This year’s event features music acts including Travis, Reef, Rita Ora, Busted, Sam Ryder, The Lightning Seeds, Madness, Squeeze, and Kim Wilde.

CarFest 2025 takes place at Laverstoke Park Farm in Hampshire from the 22nd to 24th August
