The London Concours will showcase and celebrate the Jaguar E-Type at the Honourable Artillery Company in June.

Wednesday 5th June will see Jaguar and the London Concours delve into the evolution of a British icon with a collection of 10 cars sourced from across the Jaguar Classic private collection which spans the model’s production history.

The E-Type was unveiled in 1961 at the Geneva Motor Show as both a coupe and convertible with a 3.8-litre inline-six engine. Three years later, the engine was upgraded to a 4.2-litre inline-six engine which increased torque and delivered a smoother driving experience.

The Series 2 model came in 1968 with enhanced performance and safety features. Noticeable changes included larger rear lights and repositioned indicators, as well as an enlarged front grille. The 4.2-litre inline-six engine was kept, however, inside the car, seats and heating/ventilation systems were upgraded for better comfort.

Finally, the Series 3 model was revealed in 1971 and came with a V12 engine with a 5.3-litre capacity and 272hp. Fans of the inline-six were disappointed to see it replaced despite the significant performance improvement.

Production ran from 1961-1974 overall and gained fans worldwide including none other than Enzo Ferrari who described it as ‘the most beautiful car ever made’. In 2004, Sports Car International magazine ranked the E-Type as number one in its list of Top Sports Cars of the 1960s and it also ranked first in The Daily Telegraph’s ‘100 most beautiful cars’ of all time.

Paul Barritt, Managing Director, Jaguar Classic, said: "The word 'iconic' is often overused, but in the case of the Jaguar E-type, there can be no dispute that it applies. E-Type is a genuine cultural icon and remains one of the most beautiful cars in the world. We are thrilled to be able to celebrate its legacy half a century on from the end of its production.

"As we reimagine Jaguar as an all-electric luxury brand from 2025, Jaguar Classic proudly supports owners with a full suite of services for their custodianship, as well as offering the best examples of the world's most recognisable classic sports car for sale."

The eighth edition of the London Concours will run from the 4th to the 6th of June at the Honourable Artillery Company.
