Limited edition Aston Martin Vanquish 25 celebrates important milestone for flagship model
Aston Martin has unveiled a limited edition Vanquish to celebrate 25 years of its V12-powered nameplate, which has seen three generations of models, multiple specials and a starring role in the James Bond series.
The original Vanquish was in the works as early as January 1998 as the brainchild of legendary designer Ian Callum, who put pen to paper on the new model for Aston Martin, taking inspiration from the DB4 GT Zagato and building on another of his designs — the DB7 Vantage.
It later made its debut at the 2001 Geneva Motor Show to much fanfare as a concept sports car named ‘Project Vantage’.
How many Vanquish 25 are being made?
The new Vanquish 25 is the work of Q by Aston Martin, with only 25 examples (25 coupe and 25 Volante) to be produced worldwide. Aston Martin has taken inspiration from the original 2001 Vanquish for its detailing and launch spec and given it a modern polish, and models will be available in 2+0 or 2+2 seating configurations.
Exterior
The Vanquish 25 immediately grabs you with its exclusive Q Skye Silver paintwork that harks back to famous models like the James Bond DB5. Other touches include Q Commission metal foil detailing on the side sills and the shield vanes, bespoke Aston Martin script foil detailing, and the addition of a Q Commission exhaust finisher, along with stainless steel side strakes.
The car is distinguished with unique ‘Vanquish 25’ badging and a new subtle ‘V’ highlighting of the 21-inch forged alloy wheels.
Interior
Inside, the limited edition Vanquish has a unique feel which Aston Martin says ‘sets standards for modern automotive sports car luxury’, using differing perforation patterns and trim splits, while the seatbacks are embroidered with the exclusive ‘Vanquish 25’ logo.
As well as laser-etched Aston Martin trim inlays, an eye-catching bright red start/stop button in the centre console immediately captures attention and is surrounded by bespoke rotary geometry, and a black Alcantara headlining.
Three interior trim colours are available to customers: Onyx Black, Phantom Grey or the Oxford Tan seen in the images below.
That V12 Engine
The V12 remains strong after 25 years and is more powerful than ever thanks to modern upgrades and engineering innovations. Producing 823bhp and 1000Nm of torque, the Vanquish 25 can sprint from 0-62mph in 3.3 seconds on the way to a top speed of 214mph.
Along with a bespoke chassis with state-of-the-art dynamics technology and carbon fibre bodywork, this is truly the pinnacle of Aston Martin’s famed front-engined sports car range.
When will the Vanquish 25 make its debut?
Those attending Monterey Car Week in California between 10-16 August will have the chance to see the Aston Martin Vanquish 25 for the first time, while first customer deliveries will take place in Q4 of this year.
