Kia Sportage Among Winners in Carbuyer Used Car Awards 2024
It was a double victory for the Kia Sportage in the Carbuyer Used Car Awards 2024, winning Best Used Car of the Year 2024 and Best Used Family Car. Following last week’s New Car Awards, this time it was the turn of cars with a few miles on the clock that are possibly even better for it. Winners were announced in 16 categories across every major market sector providing potential buyers with a range of suitable and award winning used cars to possibly choose from in the future.
The focus in judging was on more recent models showing that it is possible to still pick up a bargain in a constantly inflating marketplace. Cars were evaluated by Carbuyer’s team of road testers with each of the winners representing the best of its type in terms of quality, ability, value for money, reliability and build quality. Along with these determining factors, practicality, technology and driving experience also set the winning cars apart from the rest of the competition.
2024 Carbuyer Used Car of the Year & Best Used Family Car - Kia Sportage
Carbuyer’s judges said: “Buying used often means a compromise when it comes to reliability or dependability. However, Kia’s industry-leading seven-year warranty means you can buy a car that is two or three years old and still have the fallback of the manufacturer guarantee.
“Yet even without this, the Sportage’s excellent practicality, strong kit count and agreeable driving dynamics make it a fantastic family car, and a no-brainer for Carbuyer’s overall Used Car of the Year for 2024.”
Best Used Small Family Car - Dacia Duster
Following recent success for the Jogger, winning Best Family Car at the Best Car Awards, Dacia picked the Best Used Small Family Car for its Duster. Since Dacia’s introduction to the UK market in 2013, it has sold more than 250,000 vehicles, with the Duster proving its most popular model.
On naming the Duster the best small family car on the second-hand market, the popular website’s expert judging panel said: “Dacia as a brand was formed to offer its customers unbeatable value, and the fantastic Duster sticks resolutely to that core deliverable. Spacious, cheap to run and built to last, if you’re after a dependable small family car then the Duster is Carbuyer's top choice.”
Best Used Hybrid - Honda Jazz e:HEV
Honda’s Jazz e:HEV has been named ‘Best Used Hybrid’ in the Carbuyer Best Used Car Awards 2024.
The Carbuyer judges commented: “If you’re not ready for an EV, then the super-frugal Honda Jazz should be one of the cheapest cars to run, bar none. But that’s not all, as its super-clever interior and near-bulletproof reliability make it a beautifully simple car to live with as well.”
Best Used Sports Car - Audi TT
Time is almost up for the Audi TT after 25 years in production through various iterations. The release of the Final Edition will mark the end of a successful era for Audi, with the TT proving a popular option for those in the market for a reliable and fuel efficient sports car. However, with Audi looking towards an electrified range in the future, it has called time on the TT’s production
