Hennessey Venom F5 Revolution Roadster Revealed

Hennessey Venom F5 Revolution Roadster

Texan based manufacturer has unveiled the new Venom F5 Revolution Roadster, an exclusive track-focused hypercar version of the standard Venom F5 Roadster, which it claims can reach a top speed of over 300mph, making it the world’s fastest open top car. Only 12 have been made and retail at a price of £2.4m, however as you can probably guess, they’ve all already been sold.

Revealed in carbon fibre, the Revolution is re-engineered from its Coupe sibling, with improved agility, handling and higher downforce. For best performance on the track, there are larger front and rear splitters, a distinctive rear wing, retuned suspension and new wheels. A high mounted central sir scoop has been carried forward from the Coupe version that helps deliver cool air to the F5’s engine.

Like the other Venom F5 models, the Revolution is powered by Hennessey’s twin-turbocharged 6.6-litre ‘Fury’ V8 engine mid-mounted to the carbon fibre chassis. Able to see through a glass viewing window four times stronger than ordinary annealed glass, the V8 engine provides 1,817bhp.

The big difference between the Revolution and the Coupe model is the new roof which has been re-engineered with a removable panel crafted from carbon fibre composites. Fully insulated with Alcantara upholstery, the single-piece roof is secure against weather and weighs just 8kg, making removal and installation easy for one person. Overall, the Revolution is the lightest of the 1360kg F5 models.

John Hennessey, company founder and CEO: "The new Venom F5 Revolution Roadster combines our track-focused hypercar with an open-top for an unmatched visceral driving experience. This first example, a bespoke build for a special client, debuts our bare carbon finish with its meticulous handcrafted exposed carbon-fibre weave. Our hypercar is a timeless work of art that is as visually inspiring as it is physically engaging, thanks to its 1,817-hp combustion-only twin-turbocharged V8."

The car will make its global public debut on August 18 at The Quail, A Motorsports gathering, during Monterey Car Week 2023.
