Already known for pushing beyond the limit of possibility, Texas-based hypercar manufacturer Hennessey now plans to build the world’s most powerful manual production car which the brand says will be its most engaging, physical and driver-focused hypercar to date.

The open-top Venom F5-M will be centred around a six-speed manual transmission and is powered by a whopping 1,817bhp Fury V8 engine which has been remapped to pair it with new gearing ratios.

The redesigned interior has an entirely new layout and the new cockpit is jet fighter inspired with Top Gun style toggle switches. An aluminium and carbon fibre gear lever is perfectly placed for the smoothest gear changes and there are horizontal air outlets above an aluminium slot made purposely for the key.

Hennessey has created a bespoke livery inspired by heritage motorsport designs that emphasise the lines of the car and its open-top nature. Exposed carbon fibre is paired with a striped pattern that runs from the front of the car and flows over the windscreen and connecting cockpit.

Only 12 Venom F5-M Roadster models will be built and, predictably, all have already been sold. Each will feature a unique livery and cost $2.65 million.

The new open top hypercar has an esteemed heritage, coming from the same stock as the six-speed manual Hennessey Venom GT Spyder, still the world’s fastest convertible road car with a top speed of 265.6mph in 2016.
